We invite you to join us for Robbie’s Rugby Festival
Saturday 29th July 2017 – Quorn Sports Fields
Robbie’s Rugby Festival, in aid of The Robbie Anderson Cancer Trust and The Jake McCarthy Foundation will take place on Saturday 29th July at Loughborough Grammar School Playing Fields. Now in its 9th Year, the competitive daytime rugby matches and party on the pitch will raise life changing funds.
In 2016 over 2000 people attended the festival, which raises funds for two worthy charities supporting young people with cancer. The charities both take inspiration from Robbie Anderson and Jake McCarthy, whose lives were tragically cut short by the illness. The Robbie’s Rugby Festival creates an atmospheric, inspiring event that leaves a legacy to be remembered by uniting local communities, businesses and teams from across the country.
The fundraising event needs as many people as possible to join in the fight against cancer and raise vital funds. The hope for 2017 is to gain more attendees to support the main Robbie’s 10’s, Jake’s Round Robin, Ladies 7’s as well as the Rugby Village, Pimms and Champagne Garden and the Hospitality Tent. The evenings party on the pitch will celebrate the day’s activities and the fantastic charities, with live music and the ever popular photo-booth, that is back to capture those priceless moments.
Georgie Fowle, Co-Founder of Addo Events and organiser of Robbie’s Rugby Festival said: “We have been overwhelmed by the support and generosity shown by everyone towards the festival over the last 8 years. We were all delighted that the 2016 event raised an excess of £12,500 for both The Robbie Anderson Cancer Trust and The Jake McCarthy Foundation. Our hope for 2017 is not only to increase the total further, but to raise awareness of the incredible work of both charities and to try and engage even more people to join in the fight against cancer and do their bit.”
The festival could not run without the organisation of Georgie from Addo Events, who among a number of other high profile events organised the Festival of Hunting and the Peterborough Royal Foxhound Show.
The 2017 Rugby event is also generously supported by sponsors, Loughborough Endowed Schools, Compucover and Charnwood Wealth Management.
The supporting sponsors are Porsche, The Loughburians, Emery Johnson Astills, The Dixie Grammar School, Challenge Trophies, Restoration UK, Flying Spares, Charnwood Brewery and Space Retail Property Consultants. Also, with the support of partners Oddballs, Pipers Crisps, Severn Trent Water, Function Jigsaw, Jigsaw Events, Buster Marquees, Niche Magazine, EPS and Nottingham Rugby.
