For the 4th time since becoming MP for Loughborough the Politics Society once again were delighted to host an informal question and answer session on Friday 12th February with the Rt Hon Nicky Morgan MP, Secretary of State for Education.
All 70 students of Politics from the upper and lower sixth were granted a rare opportunity to ask Nicky questions that ranged from inquiries into the life of an MP and Minister of State, to questions on Syria, the EU and the US presidential primaries; including inevitable questions on schools, universities and the fall in numbers attracted to the teaching profession.
The Minister congratulated the Politics Department too for the high number of students studying Politics and the vibrancy of the subject at LES. Nicky once again said how she enjoyed the occasion due to the quality of the questions, which may account for why she voluntarily gave the students an extra half an hour of her time, despite her busy diary.
Thank you Minister – here’s to the next time!
