In June, Year 6 boys from Fairfield and LGS read and wrote poetry inspired by the Olympics, on the theme of ‘Games.’ An entertaining range of poems were produced, from a variety of imaginative and unusual perspectives, including the swimming pool’s view of the Olympic Games, and a cloud’s perspective on sports! Sports covered included cricket, football, athletics and chess. We very much enjoyed choosing winners for our Year 6 Poetry Competition and their poems are currently displayed in the Queen’s Building. The Headmaster presented prizes to the overall winners and those whose poems were highly commended. Special mention goes to our winners, Christopher Crowson, James Hammond, Oli Euden, William Miles and Antoni Krupa but congratulations are due to all involved.
