Students were given a day off timetable during which time they worked with a workshop leader to produce a piece of dramatic art for the Year 8 Drama Festival. The morning was spent learning skills associated with physical theatre during which time they learnt how to use their bodies in abstract and highly imaginative ways, working with and responding to a variety of musical stimulus. In groups they were then encouraged to devise a short physical performance following the concept of being in a dark and gloomy forest. The Year 8 Tutor Groups achieved a significant amount and we were thrilled to see the level of talent on display. At the end of the day the students performed their devised pieces to parents and friends on the quad as music blared out to create atmosphere. 8JRC were first up and set a high standard for the other groups to match.
