A joint campaign between Loughborough Endowed Schools and the Rempstone Fundraising Committee has raised a total of £5,000 for the Defence and National Rehabilitation Centre (DNRC), which is a clinical rehabilitation centre for the armed forces that is due to open in 2018.
Jim Doherty, Chief Operating Officer at Loughborough Endowed Schools, explained that they were keen to support the centre:
“The DNRC will be a world-leading facility for the rehabilitation of our military personnel. This is a cause which is close to the hearts of so many and we’re really proud to be able to help the Rempstone Fundraising Committee in raising a great total for the centre.
“It was great to get the local community involved in the fundraising efforts, we volunteered at the Beer and Curry Evening held in Rempstone and hosted a charity concert at Fairfield Preparatory School. Both of these events had a superb attendance and we were delighted with the response.”
