Old Loughburian, David Collier, has been awarded an OBE for services to cricket in the Queen’s New Year Honours.
David was CEO of the England and Wales Cricket Board for more than a decade before retiring last year. He had previously held cricket management posts at four counties – Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire, Gloucestershire and Essex, following a successful business career in the travel and leisure industry.
LGS Headmaster, Paul Fisher, said: “We were delighted that David agreed to award the prizes at our Senior Prizegiving in 2006, and the boys enjoyed his insights into top level sport and his memories of the school. We are now equally pleased that his services to cricket have been recognised and send him our warmest congratulations.”
