Setting the pace 03.05.12

The 55th Annual Review of the CCF took place on Saturday 28th April in what can only be described as what are now “traditional” conditions.  A rain-affected morning saw former Contingent Commander Wing Commander Simon Lane, OL, inspect the impressive turn out of the cadets in the company of two other OLs, Wing Commander David Arthurton and Major Alex Dart, both of whom had made a special effort to be present to honour the Reviewing Officer’s long service to the school and the Contingent.  While undoubtedly dampening the uniforms, the weather did not have the same effect on the spirits of the Contingent and the various activities, the drill displays and the Inter-Service Field Gun Competition were as proudly and superbly engaged in as always.  After losing out to the Army by a narrow margin last year, the Royal Navy set a cracking pace for the Gun Race and, for the sixth time in the past seven years, were duly rewarded with the Hipkin Trophy.
