This year’s Field Day outing for the members of the Voluntary Service Unit was to Burghley House, near Stamford. The boys were accompanied by some 42 senior citizens, whom they visit on a regular basis throughout the year, helping them with daily tasks which might otherwise prove to be a challenge.
We must thank the people at Burghley for opening the House especially for our visit; it is normally closed on Friday. A guided tour of the House was followed by afternoon tea in the Orangery and a walk in the grounds. Despite the weather spirits were high and once again it was a splendid occasion.
