On Thursday 15th November the Burton Consort and Choristers sang choral evensong in the magnificent surroundings of Worcester Cathedral and the substantial congregation enjoyed the truly outstanding singing. From the responses to the psalms, from the Canticles in B minor by Noble to Wood’s tremendous anthem ‘O Thou The Central Orb’ the boys sang with gusto and finesse.
Indeed Dr Peter Nardone, the Organist and Director of Music at Worcester Cathedral, attended and wrote afterwards: “Please pass on my heartfelt thanks and best wishes to all the boys and staff who took part in last night’s Choral Evensong at Worcester Cathedral. It was a thrill to hear such wonderful singing and to witness respectful good behaviour, clear musical leadership and commitment from all concerned. Do come again!”
That says it all, and with the warm welcome we received it is highly likely we will return there in years to come. Well done everyone!
