Ten Sixth Form pupils from Loughborough Grammar School and Loughborough High School visited Ty Newydd, former home of David Lloyd George and a writers’ residential centre in North Wales, for four days during the Christmas holidays. They worked on their writing, some building up their A Level coursework and others as an enrichment activity. They wrote furiously, producing a wide range of pieces from haikus in the rain to plans for group novels. They visited the tomb of David LLoyd George, walked by the river, and visited Criccieth in the December mist. Many thanks to the Parents’ Association for their contribution to this invaluable writerly retreat.
