Yr 10 WW1 History Study Trip 12.06.17

In the Summer half-term break Loughborough Grammar School History took 31 Year 10 boys to Ypres and the Somme for a First World War study trip. This trip links in with topics covered on their iGCSE course and the boys also paid their respects at the graves and memorials of over 10 of the 58 Old Loughburians who lost their lives in the conflict.

Highlights of the trip included a guided visit of the Vimy Ridge trench and tunnel system, three boys laying a school wreath at the Menin Gate service and a visit to Lochnagar Crater.

Many thanks go to Miss Jenkins and Mr Murphy for accompanying the boys on this trip.
