Shield

Worth waiting for 25.04.13

On 23 April, the Under 14 Rugby XV overcame considerable odds to defeat Mount Grace High School in the final of the Leicestershire County Cup.  In a delayed final, which should have been played last term, the lads faced a physically much bigger side, but they at least matched them in all areas of the game.  Playing some fine, open, attacking rugby, splendid tries were scored following flowing movements involving both backs and forwards.  These tries, added to resolute defence against the opponent’s fast and powerful backs, ensured a very well-deserved victory by 29 points to 19, made all the more creditable as the team hadn’t played for some six weeks.  They can now look forward to next season with renewed confidence.
