Physical Education & Games
We believe that education is concerned with the whole human being and that every pupil has the ability to achieve something worthwhile in at least one of the many activities we offer. By developing and maintaining physical skills, our pupils discover that both expression and creativity can also come through the awareness of their own body. And, as a bi-product, any degree of genuine involvement is also a preparation for successful leisure.
We must remember that academic work, although of prime importance, is only a part of school life. Here, we organise games and sporting contests at all levels of ability. Those that are gifted practise amongst themselves and compete against all the top schools within the area. Meanwhile, all the others can discover the value of sports and games – the capacity to promote self-confidence, co-operation, teamwork, health and enjoyment – within the level of their own ability.
Prospective parents will discover in the Extra-curricular section a complete breakdown of our Sports Department. Within the curriculum itself, all boys are allocated periods to exercise and develop their body – regardless of their sporting prowess. Our facilities are vast and the choices are numerous.
