Physics
Why is the sky blue? What's inside a proton? Will the universe end? Just some of the questions that Physics is able to address, from the incredibly small to the massively large and everything in between.
With our 5 superbly equipped laboratories and ongoing success in sending students to Oxbridge and Russell Group universities, the Physics department actively bucks the national trend that sees the subject in decline.
Here at Loughborough, pupils enjoy a team of highly qualified teaching staff, strong technical support and a department dripping with all the vital computer, projector, DVD, video and Internet facilities. These include a dedicated suite of 8 laptop computers which in conjunction with Data Harvest, interfaces and sensors, allows for whole class experiments using ICT for data capture and analysis.
Our well organised and clearly structured work schemes ensure full syllabus coverage at every stage of a boy's education. So it's hardly a surprise that we boast an annual average of 60 students starting their AS course with at least 35 continuing to A2 Level.
In contrast yet equally important, we run weekly lunch time clinics to provide extra support to those students who have difficulties with the subject.
