Year 6
Our dedicated Year 6 class was created some years ago to accommodate boys from some Leicestershire schools who simply had to make their transfer at the end of Year 5. However, it has become so successful that it is now attracting parents for wider reasons.
The leap from a small primary school to a large campus can sometimes appear daunting to a small boy. We have cushioned this effect by creating their very own classroom block. Under the guidance of a dedicated Form Tutor, the boys are introduced to Big School life in gentle stages. Beyond their lessons and homework, our aim is for them to create strong friendship bonds that will last throughout their schooldays. This process is enhanced by numerous trips and educational visits including a residential visit in the Summer Term.
Alongside this, the boys are gradually integrated into school life. They attend assemblies, enjoy lunch in the main hall and can become involved in any of the range of extra-curricular activities on offer. They are subject to the same rules as all the other pupils, wear the same uniform, take part in House activities and travel to and from school on the bus. Overall, an ideal preparation for Loughborough.
