Combined Cadet Force

Combined Cadet Force

Whether you are keen to pursue a career in the Services or simply dreaming to taste adventures such as parachute jumping, our Combined Cadet Force (CCF) can provide exactly what you are looking for. This is a vibrant contingent containing separate sections for the Army, Navy and RAF and boasting a proud record of achievement within the School. The contingent has its own new dedicated building on the campus within the CCF Compound. Membership is entirely voluntary.

The activities of the combined force generate enormous enthusiasm. Much of the time they pursue separate challenges, although particularly popular events attract volunteers from all three sections. Potential aviators learn the basics of flying and regularly visit Aeropark at East Midlands Airport. Small groups attend parachute courses where they make their first jump – and we have even had a small section who completed a Tandem Sykdive. All Cadets enjoy their annual week long summer camp and the RAF section holds a separate camp at Easter.

Other than the Remembrance Day Parade, the highlight of the year is undoubtedly the May Annual review. Here the CCF get the chance to demonstrate their skills and also compete against one another in the annual Gun Run. As always, Loughborough's famous Corps of Drums delight their large audience with an array of melodies which remain in people's memory for weeks afterwards – inspiring boys to whistle a happy tune as they march between their classes.
