Voluntary Service Unit

If, on market day, you wander into any number of charity shops in Loughborough, you will come across Year 11 LGS pupils behind the tills, sorting clothes and books and assisting customers.

Year 12 pupils will be engaged in conversations, doing odd jobs and serving teas either in local residential homes or in individual's own houses.

At Christmas the boys deliver hampers to around 50 local senior citizens, the food being donated by the boys, parents and staff. A lot of those receiving the hampers are quite immobile and live on their own and so are hugely grateful for this gift.

The eagerly awaited Easter Raffle raises money for local charities and the Summer Outing.

The Summer Outing comprises of taking a coach of senior citizens to a place of interest, usually a National Trust House and Garden and treating them to a cream tea!
