Building Projects

In 2008 the School embarked on the largest building project in its history with a complete rebuild of the Science and Mathematics buildings on the west side of 'The Walks'.

Work started on a new Chemistry Building, comprising of six laboratories plus support areas, in August 2008 and was completed in Autumn 2009. next will be work to double the size of the existing Biology Building; transform the old Science Building into a Physics Building and finally an overhaul of the Mathematics Building. With school continuing as normal around the building works it is anticipated the whole project will take 6 years to complete.

The architect of the scheme is John Morfey, an old boy of the School, who has already won awards with the designs for the School's Drama Studio, Modern Languages Building and Music School. His aim is to create a 21st Century quad of glass and steel to compliment the 19th Century quad on the east side of 'The Walks'.
