Statement of Support for Boys with Learning Difficulties
We do not recommend ourselves as a specialist school for students with learning difficulties; however there are a number of boys within the school who successfully passed the entrance exam and are doing well. If a student can cope with the academic nature of the school, but has certain learning differences that we can reasonably accommodate in the classroom, then we will endeavour to support him in his studies. Support is offered through special classes at lunchtimes in small groups as well as support profiles that keep all staff aware of the particular needs of the boy. A boy is not removed from lessons to receive one to one support, nor is such support offered in the classroom.
All boys are screened for dyslexia on entry and the whole of Learning Support is overseen by a full time member of staff, who will be able to answer any specific questions parents may have. The Learning Support Co-ordinator can be contacted through the school.
