During the Easter holidays (16th – 21st April 2012) Mr Kerr and Mrs Coles took a party of 15 in total to Austria. We had two nights in Vienna, where we enjoyed seeing works by Klimt in the Belvedere as well as more contemporary works of art and we also enjoyed a visit to Schönbrunn Palace in glorious sunshine. One of the highlights of our trip was seeing pandas in the zoo at Schönbrunn. We then spent three nights in Salzburg where our itinerary was action-packed: we went on a tour of the famous Hallein Salt mines, we visited the Hellbrunn gardens with its fascinating trick fountains and took a cable car up to the top of the Untersberg. We also explored the castle in Salzburg and had a lovely view over the town from the castle walls. The trip was thoroughly enjoyed by all and we look forward now to our next trip to Germany or Austria, possibly at Christmas this year.
