Leicester, we have a problem! 02.07.12

The whole of Year 9, some 150 pupils, spent a day at the National Space Centre, Leicester exploring all aspects of the Solar System.  Faced with a number of challenges they discovered, amongst other things, whether they are made of the right stuff to be an astronaut on a 3D simulation of a journey to Europa and how to plan for an imminent asteroid strike.

A visit to the planetarium, the rocket tower and the many galleries rounded-off an exciting, informative and rewarding day.  Did you know Saturn would float if it could be put in large enough bath and that the first animal to orbit the Earth was a dog called Laika?
