Chengran (Jonathan) Yang proved himself to be one of the top young Maths students in the country when he came 15th in round 2 of the British Mathematical Olympiad. His journey began when he, along with 100,000 other students, took part in the Senior Maths Challenge with approximately 1600 qualifying for round 1 of the British Mathematical Olympiad. Not only did Jonathan qualify for round 1 but he was one of only 230 students around the country who then qualified for round 2. Once again, he excelled himself, by demonstrating he is a genuine talent in the field of mathematics.
Jonathan has also been offered a place to study at St. John’s College at Cambridge for next year.
